Workshop on android application development was conducted at CITTIC on 4th August 2018. The
workshop included fundamentals of android, android studio, the design tools and programming backend
popularly used, an overview of other basic concepts of app development and a hands on session to
understand a basic android application. The topics included
Overview of android and IDE (opportunities, languages, scope)
Familiarisation of IDE (editors, tools, features, walk through)
Brief about languages and designing tools (xml, java and asset designer)
Designing the application (layouts and interfaces)
Programming the backend (java files)
Sample project hands-on
Setting up of project (build gradle, manifest)
Coding (multiple activity interaction included)
App installation into android devices and playstore (keystore brief)
Supporting tools-Git hub and Google
Firebase
